Tein parikin eri versiota eripaksuisilla langoilla.
Beigessä pipossa lankana on Novitan Naava, väri 616. Puikot 3,5. Tässä pipossa on 120 silmukkaa, eli tuo ohjeen “naisten koko”. Langan menekki 110 grammaa, eli hieman yli kerä.
Keltaisessa lankana on Novitan Nalle, väri 246. Puikot 3,5. Koska lanka on huomattavasti beigessä pipossa käytettyä lankaa ohuempaa, on tässä 140 silmukkaa, eli ohjeen “miesten koko”. Langan menekki 65 grammaa, eli reilusti alle kerä.
Näillä lankavalinnoilla ja silmukkamäärillä tuli samankokoisilla sukkapuikoilla neulottaessa samankokoiset pipot, aikuisen miehen päähän sopiva. Ihan mukava lopputulos, vaikkei tuossa keltaisessa niin tasaista jälkeä tullutkaan. Malli on kuitenkin ihan superhelppo ja varsinkin paksulla langalla pipo oli hetkessä valmis.

I am trying to make this famous hat ..while working this at least a dozen times, the stitches do not work out at the end there is an odd amount every time. The KKS, is a SSK. BUT still doesn’t work. . Are the amount of stitches in the beginning correct? Or the amounts for the spiral pattern for the top half.. I have been knitting for 65 years… And have come across patterns that have type-o’s? I really am going to keep trying… But would appreciate any pointers I might have missed.. Thank you so much..
Hi Cheryl! Yes, the amount of stitches are correct (120 or 140). At first you work K3 P2 until the hat is about 20 cm high. Then continue working (move the stitches) to four needles; 30 or 35 each. In the end of each needle, when there is only four stitches left; slip one stitch, knit one stich, pass slipped stitch over knitted stitch. Each needle ends with two purl.
